Dear Distinguished IAGI Professionals,

You will be aware that the 30th Annual Indonesian Petroleum Association
Convention and Exhibition will take place between August 30 - September 1, 2005
in the Jakarta Convention Center. The Call for Papers has been issued and the
deadline for submission of abstracts was notified as January 28, 2005.

Whilst the response to the Call for Papers has been reasonably good to date,
there is still availability for abstracts to be submitted and it has been
decided to extend the deadline for abstracts until February 25, 2005.

The IPA Annual Convention has become recognized as a prestigious event. This is
to a large extent as a result of the continually high quality of the papers and
the fact that Proceedings are published ahead of the Convention. The success of
the 30th and future IPA Conventions depends on the sustained support of the
industry in Indonesia and elsewhere in the region and worldwide.

In order to maintain the high quality we need the support of the management of
your company. We urge you to encourage your staff to put 'pen-to-paper' and
produce papers; these can be for oral presentation or as posters. There are a
variety of themes, from Geoscience to Human Resources and all abstracts will be
considered.

In these hectic days it seems that routine reports are being replaced by Power
Point presentations which may not fully capture the message you wish to convey.
What better opportunity to capture the story for your company, partners and
regulatory requirements than by writing a paper?

We look forward to receiving your abstracts in the near future. Thanks for your
attention and good luck with your programs in 2005.

Sincerely yours,

Heri Suryanto
