Sekarang juga sudah banyak drilling rig dan fracking berhenti di US karena turunnya harga minyak dunia. Nanti begitu naik lagi di atas USD 50/barrel, nanti mulai lagi. Dan walaupun beberapa county di AS sdh melarang fracking karena mencemari lingkungan dan mnyebabkan gempa bumi, tetapi secara keseluruhan tdk dilarang, mengingat merupakan cadangan strategis tidak lagi tergantung dari Timur Tengah.
