The 12th International Protea Association 2006 Conference and the VII International Protea Research Symposium
Call for Abstracts of Papers and Posters The International Protea Association (IPA), The International Protea Working Group (IPWG), and the California Protea Association (CPA) The Red Lion Hanalei Hotel, San Diego, California, USA, 30 March to 4 April 2006 Oral and poster presentations of the Symposium will be published as an issue of Acta Horticulturae. Presentations of the workshops will be published in the IPA Journal. For information about these exciting events, hotel accommodations, and associated tours and activities, go to the conference web site at www.IPA2006conference.org Abstracts of papers and posters should reach the Symposium Secretariat before 15 September 2005 (Specify your presentation preference of oral or poster). The Scientific Committee will determine which abstracts are accepted and will notify the first author by 31 October 2005. Each accepted paper, in its final form (in the style required by the International Society for Horticultural Science - see ISHS web page at www.ishs.org/acta), must reach the Symposium Secretariat (in hard copy and disk) by the beginning of the Symposium, 30 March 2006. Accepted abstracts of oral and poster presentations will be compiled in a Book of Abstracts and issued to the participants at the Conference and Symposium. Guidelines for submission of abstracts All abstracts (200-300 words) must be submitted in English. Each abstract, including title, authors, institutions, and countries, must fit within a 15 cm width x 23 cm length rectangle. Type the title in CAPITAL LETTERS and the names of authors, and full address at the beginning of each abstract. The abstract should be carefully typed in Times New Roman font (or other serif, proportional font), single-spaced, using a good quality black print. Use a minimum font size of 12 pt or equivalent. Apply bold, italics, underlines, symbols, superscripts, and subscripts in your main text as you want it to appear in your abstract. Abstracts will be scanned for their reproduction in the Book of Abstracts exactly as submitted. Avoid corrections, smudges, and errors. Post abstracts to Dr. Ken W. Oral presentations Presentations must be delivered in a maximum of 15 minutes. Following each session, authors will be assembled to answer questions. Poster presentations Poster presentations will take place as a part of the Symposium, with an official poster session where authors are to be present to give a brief explanation of the poster and answer questions. Poster maximum dimensions are to be 1 m wide x 2 m high. Text should be readable from a distance of 1-2 meters. Poster title (same as that for abstracts) should be written with a 3-4 cm high case. Author's names, institution, and address should be 2-3 cm high.
