Dear Colleague, Registrations and abstract submissions are being accepted for ASPB's second bi-annual Plant Genetics specialty meeting in Snowbird, Utah, October 12-16, 2005.
Abstract submission deadline for speaker selection is August 22, 2005. Registration is required prior to submiting an abstract. http://www.aspb.org/meetings/pg-2005/abstract.cfm Registrations must be received by September 22, 2005. There will be no on-site registration, and this meeting is limited to 250 registrants. By paying online, you have the option to pay only the first $50, the balance will be automatically processed on August 22, 2005. http://www.aspb.org/meetings/pg-2005/registration.cfm A preliminary schedule is now available online at http://www.aspb.org/meetings/pg-2005/schedule.cfm The focus of this meeting will be on the nature and mechanisms of genetic variation and their effects on evolution of plant form and function, as well as on plant speciation and crop domestication. The meeting will bring together speakers working on different organisms, and on different aspects and approaches, with the aim of achieving a synthesis of understanding to stimulate discussion and further research. Attendance will be limited to 250 participants. All meals will be on-site, and the speakers will be in attendance throughout the entire conference. Afternoons will be free for recreation, informal discussions and other activities. Participation by graduate students and young postdoctoral fellows is strongly encouraged. The meeting registration fee is a 'fixed fee' for all participants (speakers, discussion leaders, conferees) at the conference to encourage all participants to attend for the full 4-day conference. The fixed fee will be charged regardless of the length of time a participant attends the conference. This fee covers the meeting registration, accommodation type as specified, and meals from Wednesday dinner through Sunday breakfast including all taxes and service charges. It will not provide for items of a personal nature such as recreation, faxes, transportation, laundry, and so on. No accommodations are available for guests.
