Hi folks,

I have a bug report for a Lenovo T440s. I know the "unsupported brightness interface" has been reported numerous times, but from an end user perspective I have two issues:

1. once I 'logon' to the Linux desktop and the X display starts (i.e.
after the gnome logon screen) the brightness is set such that the
display is blank, and I have to use the brightness keys (i.e in the
T440s case F8) to increase the brightness to I can see the desktop.
2. If I have a second monitor plugged in the display stays blank and I
can't even see the gnome logon display screen at all.

I am running Debian Jessie (testing)

Linux Bosendorfer 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.7-ckt4-3 (2015-02-03) x86_64 GNU/Linux

/proc/acpi/ibm/driver
driver: ThinkPad ACPI Extras
version: 0.25

Hope this is the correct place to report this,

In response to some of the reports the replies are that "Unsupported brightness interface, " is a normal message and can be ignored, and unlike some others who have reported, my F5,F6 keys to adjust the brightness do work (although I think they were running experimental),

so I'm at a bit of a loss as to what I can do to fix this, the second display 'startup' issue is the real nuisance - I have to remember to unplug the display when (re)booting.

regards,
Jol.
