You can ignore them, they are unrelated and normal.  Brightness control is a
function of the gpu nowadays.

Your high temperatures look like a hardware issue, yes.  Either dust or a
problem in the thermal interface between heatsink and chip (fixed by
replacing the thermal compound or reseating the thermal pad).
