Hello you all almighty mainframers, I'm trying to automate heartbeat to one of our SMTP-servers. ICMP echo is not allowed. One good possibility would be a testing telnet session to that SMTP-server. However it seems to be a kind of tricky or impossible to use telnet from rexx execs. Is there any simple way to solve this problem or is the rexx tcp/ip socket programming the only way?
