I think this error is caused by a requirement in DB2 that the HOST file/table be correctly built. That is a TCP/IP function that relates a host name to an IP address. I'm not sure, but look for MAKESITE in the TCP/IP doc.
Also, consider VIPA as an alternative. See the DB2 doc.
