Hello Peter, Even though we are a parallel sysplex site, we get to schedule production IPLs three times a year. Into these we jam in, hardware upgrades, software upgrades, configuration upgrades, maintenance that requires IPLs. If for none of these reasons, we try to schedule one IPL per system just prior to our end of year change freeze.
We dont like having to shut down any of the z/OS systems, they are all needed.
