No, they were 2.4MB. I'm talking about 5.25" 2.4MB floppy drive for 3174.
It is not 3.5" 2.88MB rarely used, especially in IBM PCs or DEC Alpha's.

Of course some older 3174s were equipped with 'regular' drives 5.25" 1.2MB. It was much more convenient for maintenance, because those diskettes can be copied using PC (yes, old PC with FDD 5.25"). I tried to connect drive 5.25" 2.4MB to PC, but was able to read/write 1.2 disketes only. I gave up. See IBM-MAIN archives.
