Craig,
On Page 44 of the Redbook "ABCs of z/OS System Programming Volume 2" there
is a discussion of this. Pub number is SG24-6982-00. Hope this helps.

Is that recommendation in an IBM manual so that it satisfies management?

Thanks

This is not usually my responsibility. However, what is the procedure for
re-allocating the plpa page dataset?

ILR005E PLPA PAGE DATA SET FULL, OVERFLOWING TO COMMON DATA SET ...

In this case, DON'T!
This has been the way to go (recommended by IBM), since before MVS/XA.

Allocate a 1-cylinder PLPA, on the same pack as the CSA page dataset.
