I suspect that "everybody knows DFSORT" might mean that everybody knows the DFSORT functions that were available 5 or 10 years ago. "Training" on the newest features of DFSORT (IFTHEN, OVERLAY, UFF, SFF, large fields and constants, SAMPLE, REPEAT, etc) as well as the features available with DFSORT's ICETOOL would probably open a lot of eyes. You can tell people that DFSORT's ICETOOL has been a fully documented, fully supported part of DFSORT since 1991, so it's long past time they learned about it. LASTDUP is only the tip of the iceberg of the features available with DFSORT's ICETOOL. A good way to train people is to have people read through "z/OS DFSORT: Getting Started" which has tutorials on DFSORT, DFSORT's ICETOOL and DFSORT Symbols with lots of examples. The complete reference for ICETOOL is Chapter 6 "Using ICETOOL" of "z/OS DFSORT Application Programming Guide". All of the DFSORT books and papers are available online from: http://www.ibm.com/servers/storage/support/software/sort/mvs/srtmpub.html Another training aid for ICETOOL is my "ICETOOL Mini-User Guide", available online from: http://www.ibm.com/servers/storage/support/software/sort/mvs/icetool/index.html Frank Yaeger - DFSORT Team (IBM) Specialties: ICETOOL, IFTHEN, OVERLAY, Symbols, Migration => DFSORT/MVS is on the Web at http://www.ibm.com/storage/dfsort/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
