Steve, on IBMLINK there is a PCR (Product Cross Reference) that you can key in an FMID and get the product name.
HLExxxx is the FMID for LE. PL/I (in my system is H270330). So if you have the correct PTF(s) listed you'll be putting maintenance on LE not PL/I.
