It uses RRS for DDF, for sure. I was involved in a DDF POC (2004) and RRS had to be 'customised'. It caused a political battle because RRS was considered part of the OS, which was supported by a different group than the one supporting DB2. If anybody's interested in the ins and outs, hit the archives.
