Define 'isolate'. If, by that, you mean no shared resources (like DASD), then yes.
If you share resources (tape, dasd, etc) then the answer is still yes but some results might be a little unpredictable. Even moving resources from one time base to another needs a little thought. A scratch or creation date in the future may confuse resource managers. Many shops did this for Y2K (we called them 'time machines' or 'wayback machines'). Awfully expensive.
