Tru dat! I do the same with customers and developers alike! Sometimes they take offense. That is, until my detail-oriented approach uncovers their dumb mistake...
And, ...yes,... I occasionally fall into the trap myself. (Usually, not because I assumed my changes were trivial or irrelevant, but rather because I forgot about them entirely from too much multitasking...)
