IIRC, the only spinning disks in the 1419 all had little rubber tires on them and were used to move the paper through the machine.
IIRC, the only CCWs the 1419 understood were "Read Backward", "Select Stacker" and "Disengage". ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a PRIVATE message. Perhaps it took too long to stop the spinning disk and start spinning it the other direction. I was not aware that a Magnetic Ink Character Reader, as in the original post, had any spinning disks inside. What were these disks used for? I always thought a MICR worked like a big, ugly, slow card reader. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
