John, Can't be red. That was also the color of one of the generations of 9672 boxes. Gen 5 I believe??? I think our model R16 had the red stripe.
I think the official color of our z9-BC is periwinkle?? My CE prefers to call it "tinky-winky purple". I still think IBM should have put in a sealed water tube behind the purple stripe and ran a bubbler through it, like an old-time jukebox!
