They aren't useless.

That's fine if all you use are FIND, labels and SUBMIT. Assuming that
you want to submit identical text to what's in the file; otherwise
you're back to needing VIEW or EDIT.

I have no idea why or whether you use it; it's not my dog. I do know
why *I* use it. 95% of the time that I browse a file on my PC I wind
up using EXCLUDE commands.
