A friend just sent this to me. It looks like IBM is going to make it harder to stay on no longer supported releases. Does anyone know if this is the new direction for IBM??????
In the past if you had a IBM software product that goes past the supported date you could order maintenance and PTF’s that was already created prior to the end of support date. This allowed some companies to ride old software releases for a number of years past IBM dropping support. Recently, IBM has removed that ability and now companies are required to license add-on support ($$$) to be able to get any maintenance for unsupported software. This “IBM Lifecycle Extension” license usually only provides an addition 24 months of corrective service.
