Edward, CPIU has been a tracing option in NLDM for a very long time now. It's not set up by default - or at least this wasn't a possibility the last time I looked some years ago now - which means you have to enter a TRACE command which includes CPIU such as NLDM TRACE START CPIU <mylu> and then perform your test. Once you've finished it's probably a good idea to switch the heavy tracing off with NLDM TRACE STOP CPIU <mylu>. To be sure I got the command right - the trick is to remember to key CPIU before the LU name - I looked it up in the NetView Command manual (Vol. 1) and I can replace "a very long time now" with "since VTAM V3R4.1".
I see you are in some sort of support organization advising customers and having to pick up diagnostic data. Maybe NLDM CPIU tracing doesn't fit what you are really wanting to do. NLDM CPIU tracing is for the on-site person, typically a systems programmer, who wants to do everything with maximum ease at his/her 3270. The trace data is displayed in the context of the session information collected, stored and managed by NLDM. You don't get to print it off except as tedious screen-by-screen screen copies.
