What is "The FM"? DFSORT only uses the first volume of multivolume work files, so it does NOT dynamically allocate multivolume work files. DFSORT's shipped default for the maximum number of dynamically allocated work files is 4. This is generally a good choice as the default, but you might want to set the default larger if the majority of the jobs need more work files. Alternatively, you can just set a larger number of maximum work files for the specific jobs that need them with: //DFSPARM DD * OPTION DYNALLOC=(,n) /* where n is the number of work files and go up to 255.
