IBM does not refuse to look into a difference when it's undocumented, no matter what your previous release was. Possibly you need to go back and present the issue again. I suppose that it's possible that you were dealing with someone who was inexperienced in how to handle the problem. If they can't point out that there was a documented change, then they will work on the problem.
