Yes, I noticed that also. They seemed to have trouble articulating that a PDSE could have only data or program objects at any one time.
In DFSMS Using Data Sets, there is a statement: "One PDSE cannot contain a mixture of program objects and data members." This could be misconstrued that there is only one PDSE with such a limitation. It would be clearer to state: "A PDSE cannot contain a mixture of program objects and data members." -or- "No PDSE can contain a mixture of program objects and data members." I may be splitting hairs but I did suffer a read check and had to reread that sentence when I encountered it. > Date: Sat, 26 Feb 2011 15:19:27 -0600 > From: mike.a.sch...@gmail.com > Subject: Re: Problem Objects: A Freudian Slip? > To: IBM-MAIN@bama.ua.edu > > On Sat, Feb 26, 2011 at 8:23 AM, J R <jayare...@hotmail.com> wrote: > > The z/OS MVS JCL Reference defines "DSNTYPE=LIBRARY" as: > > "Specifies a DFSMS-managed partitioned data set extended (PDSE).
