Yes, but the assumption might be in error. Check the date. Was it
before IBM introduced the G, L, S and Z prefixes?

Is there a missing S at all? My recollection is that the 2540 is old
enough for the prefixes to not have yet existed.

Well, my filing system is to ignore the prefix and sort on xxx-yyyy.
