In my experience, after a disaster the DR co-ordinator either gets fired or the 
keys to the kingdom.

It depends on effective CYA and IT-U-SO's.

Unfortunately, DR is more politics than recovery.

It's an insurance policy, and whether or not you want to pay the premiums.
