An even worse idea is the automatic resubmission of jobs, by the job entry subsystem up re-IPL, that were running when the system was last running.
I once had a test job that crashed the test system, which was reIPLed manually and then automatically resubmitted my test job which immediately crashed the system again...etc...etc... That's a really bad idea. If their job disappears then they'll just resubmit it.
