This REXX was just a test to confirm the behaviour. My problem started when I was running some other programs (REXX) that displayed (partly for debugging reasons) these characters. > > You seem to conclude that the 3270 emulator is not the > culprit whereas I am tempted to think that maybe it is. AFAICS, TSO should normally translate these characters to dot's (colons ?) before sending them to the screen. Does anybody know where/how IBM's default translation table is defined/connected to the session ? > > What you might like to do is take some of your local VTAM > specialist's time and get him to show you what is flowing on > the session between your TSO and the emulator LU - using NLDM > CPIU trace is easiest. As my mother language is Swedish I'm sure I sometimes have a funny usage of english words. I hope I haven't used any too inapropriate words... :) > What you should be able to see in the trace is who complained > - a negative response with a juicy sense code to set the > investigative juices flowing - and when. That is certainly a way. But I suspect that the error is on a "higher" level, thats is: I seem to not use any translation table at all !? ...
