I'll try to rephrase my doubt again:
IODF constains definition fo three CPCs: CPC1 CPC2 and CPC3.
All three CPCs are same type (i.e. 2064-1C6), but each of them has different I/O devices connected. To be more complex, Each CPC have LPAR1, and LPAR2 defined. Note, the same names of LPARs. During IPL IODF is read. Two things are important: OS config used (we specify it in LOADxx), and proper LPAR name *on proper CPC*. MVS "knows" what OS config to use, knows on what LPAR it runs but also has to determine what CPC is used and read proper "section" of IODF.

As I explained earlier, it doesn't do this. z/OS doesnt use the CPC & control unit information during IPL, so there is no need to determine which section to read.
