The above statement is absolutely absurd. My main frame is an IBM x232 PC ( Flex-ES ). I not only copied SMP/E to it but am licensed to use it there. Like many hundreds, my disk volume back ups are to .aws tape images. I FTP mine to my off site storage PC. Others use NFS to other PCs. People with big iron use Bus-Tech MAS ( there's got to be a PC in there some where ). There are more copies of SMP/E on PCs than big iron. I'm required to keep five weekly back ups of each instance that I run. That's 18 copies on PCs just for me. What IBM really wrote included the word use: >"2" means that you may not copy and use this >Program on another computer without paying >additional license fees. - - - snipped - - - >Frankly, I'm amazed at your continued irresponsibility. >-- > Phil Payne > http://www.isham-research.co.uk > +44 7833 654 800 Are you also claiming that since IBM does not include specific disaster recovery clauses in some contracts, that disaster recovery can not exist? Are you implying that by not including a disaster recovery clause, that IBM is specifically stating what platform may an may not be used? somitcw @ erols.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
