As others have said that are quire a few products out that that do
something similar, at either CHEAP or $$.
Usually the more $$ gets you a lot more customizability as to reports.
If you don't want to spend money there are FREE programs on the CBT
Tape (www.cbttape.org)
There are also semi free reports that you have to tell RMF what you
want. Sometimes it can be interesting as it doesn't always do quite
what you want.
You may have to write (control cards like with RMF) simple items. Or
you can go to essentially writing full programs with SAS.
Barry Merrill with MXG (his product MXG) does indeed produce a LOT of
reports and for the most part they are canned and you have to do very
little.
The sort of down side is SAS which can be $$ is needed. I like his
product but the down side is it may be relatively cheap but the
program needed is SAS $$$.
Yes you can write COBOL programs to do what you want but again this
needs programmer time.
No matter what direction you go it will cost you money and the only
question you need to know is how much.
The CBT TAPE is probably the cheapest but remember it will probably
require you to customize the program(s) it may be a little or a lot.
It really depends on the customization.

Could you provide details on what an ACCOUNT report would produce?
Are they TSU/STC/JOB accounting information (CPU Time, Start Time,
End Time, and so on)
Or is there something else you are looking for?
