my Question:
How long will be possible, to Compile with the old (z/OS V1.8) Compiler/LE on
STEPLIB but running under an actual z/OS ?
Any experience ?

The Dignus compilers can operate in IBM compatibility mode,
and we support the older versions of compatibility all the way
back to OS/390 1.3
This means, a Dignus compiler running on z/OS 1.13 can create
objects as if it were an older version of the IBM compiler.
You also mention that its too much work to recompile everything;
the Dignus compilers operating in IBM compatibility mode can
do those compiles on your workstation... which, if your mainframe
is taxed with "real" work - you can quickly do your development
on your Windows/Linux/UNIX box, or even z/Linux.
