It's not clear what your problem is. When you do ISPF 3.4 does the data set name show up as cataloged but there is no data set on the volume? Or does it not show up as cataloged but the data set still exists on the volume? If the data set is not on the volume, use DELETE datasetname NOSCR. If the data set is on the volume but there is no catalog entry for it, issue DELETE datasetname.component NVR FILE(DD1) where DD1 points to the volume in question.
