Chris, Thanks for your advice. I'm working through the various changes and things are definitely looking brighter :-) It's a long, long time since I've done anything with JES2, NJE and VTAM as I am only restarting a sysprog position after a fairly long time. The memory cells are gradually being re-vitalized. Changing the VTAM NETID in the z/OS 1.4 system solved the VTAM problems - I didn't realise that you can change the VTAM netid without changing the system id (doh!). Now getting JES2 node connection errors - due to path manager setting mismatch between the two systems. Sorting that out as soon as I can get an IPL of the z/OS 1.6 system.
