Rex, you don't need UID 0 - OMVS segments for users who just need to FTP or PING or REXEC something from z/OS to the outside world. You need specifics only for users who do actual OMVS work and/or need to access HFS files, like sysprogs, etc. Check your security system's setup ... are the OMVS default userid and group ID defined? You need a working default UID and GID setup for everyone. For details, refer to your Security system's installation or Administration manual.
