I am signed up for the IBM class ES902 in LA on
03/20/2006, which is called "Advanced Parallel Sysplex
Operations and Recovery".  I think that enrollment is
low and they need more students to  allow the class to
be given.

If you haven't been to a class in LA recently, the
classes are now given near LAX instead of Koreatown,
which makes life alot easier.

If anyone was thinking about taking this class, this
would be a good time. :)

Learn how to set up advanced recovery techniques in
the Parallel Sysplex environment. Experience various
problems in a Parallel Sysplex via extensive hands-on
labs and take the appropriate recovery actions to
maintain high availability of the Parallel Sysplex. 

Hands-On Labs 

Eighteen labs are included to address implementation
of remote Hardware Management Console (HMC) options,
creation and customization of activation profiles and
console set up for 2074s, analysis of the current
Parallel Sysplex configuration and status,
implementation of sysplex exploiters including, Global
Resource Serialization (GRS) Star, Job Entry Subsystem
2 (JES2), LOGGER, and Enhanced Catalog Sharing (ECS),
identification of sysplex problems, establishing
recovery procedures for sysplex, and implementation of
a Coupling Facility (CF). 

Four additional optional labs are also provided to
overview certain DB2, ECS and console operations and
recovery options. 

Hands-on lab projects may be done in teams depending
on the number of attendees and location.
