A purist might disagree and say that LA sets the high order bit to zero. Remember the mainest rule of thumb: when in doubt, read (or re-read) the Principles of Operation description. E.g.: "In the 31-bit addressing mode, the address is placed in bit positions 33-63, bit 32 is set to zero, and bits 0-31 remain unchanged."
