Bruce, We are currently migrating from z/OS 1.4 to z/OS 1.7 and we had the same problem with our IGDACSMC (management class) exit.
It seems that at some version of DFSMS between z/OS 1.4 and 1.7 the coding requirements for assigning a class in the ACS exits has changed. For some reason, this is not documented in the z/OS 1.4 to z/OS 1.7migration literature, but it is documented in the z/OS V1R7 DFSMS Installation Exits book. Specifically, see "Assigning classes" in chapter 5 about how you should update your exit. There was also a change in the way you should code if you dont want to assign a class at all in the exit. Hope this helps, Gil.
