The flip side is that you > might have an FTP client that recognizes a URL, but that is *not* part > of the FTP specifications. > Ummm. Is there a specification for the UI of an FTP client? I know only that the network protocol is specified. For example, typical linemode FTP clients have a QUOTE command; I had to ask an expert how to do QUOTE with the GUI client Fetch (Answer: pull down a menu to an entry, "Send Host Command"). I believe neither client violates any specification, since none exists. -- gil -- StorageTek INFORMATION made POWERFUL ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
