How many cylinders is/was the full CSI? I would use that as a starting point for allocating the new one instead of the size of the flat file offload. Do you expect to see a lot of new software being installed which would cause the CSI to grow quickly or do you see it as relatively static? I would build the new CSI with a primary extent roughly the size of the full CSI tweaking the size based on the freespace parameters you have defined. Set some reasonable subset of the primary size for the secondary allocations.
