What Service Classes do you have your IDMS Regions qualified to? What goal is defined for those. It is typical for IDMS to be waiting on itself. Multiple TCBs, and it may be waiting on File I/O. Would probably need more information, such as the Workload section of the RMF Post Processor for those Service Classes. I don't think you actually have a problem. Is there something you're seeing that says otherwise?

Hi Everyone: We are having a situation that i can not understand. Using RMF we have a started class that have been having CPU contention. Checking in rmf, I found that the primary reason for the delay its itself, I couldn't understand whats its really means. This is what RMF says: Job: IDMSPROD Primary delay: Job is waiting to use the processor. Probable causes: 1) Higher priority work is using the system. 2) Improperly tuned dispatching priorities. ------------------------- Jobs Holding the Processor -------------------------- Job: IDMSPROD Job: IDMSDESA Job: TCPIP Holding: 8% Holding: 5% Holding: 3% PROC Using: 56% PROC Using: 11% PROC Using: 14% DEV Using: 43% DEV Using: 8% DEV Using: 0% --------------------------- Job Performance Summary --------------------------- Service WFL -Using%- DLY IDL UKN ---- % Delayed for ---- Primary CX ASID Class P Cr % PRC DEV % % % PRC DEV STR SUB OPR ENQ Reason S 0080 IDMSPRD 1 80 56 43 23 0 19 15 10 0 0 0 0 IDMSPROD Like you see IDMSPROD has been delayed by IDMSPROD like a primary reason. The average cpu usage is les than 60% for everything in the machine. Is there any idea what this situation means ??? Thanks. J.
