Joe, I guess that we should go back to basics. What changed? About the time SSM stopped, did anyone make a parmlib change? If so, did they make a copy of the member before the change so we can compare the two? Some other things to check that would stop SSM:
The REQUEST parameter of the SETSYS command. This causes an operator message asking whether SSM can start. Maybe the operator is responsing NO. SSM won't start if Primary is running on the same system. Is Primary starting before SSM? SSM won't run if CDS backup is running. Could CDS backup start and not finish for some reason? Make sure MIGRATION is not held. Issue RELEASE MIGRATION(AUTO). Issue the Q SETSYS command and look at messages ARC0151I and message ARC0272I. What is the SSM start and end time showing? What does the SSM CYCLE show? Are you sure there are no messages around the time it is supposed to start?
