In z/OS 1.8, it's supposed to use LE instead. I don't use the gui. It's too ugly for my taste, though a seperate window for split screens could be useful on occasion. I do sometimes (rarely) use it to edit a PC file in ISPF. (Ok, call me a wierdo.)
