Hi,

The latest update is this is another issue caused by attempting to
enable MIDAW. We have once again disabled MIDAW in all LPARs.
The symptom we reported is recurring DATALOSS HFS corrupted had to be
restored from backups.

APAR is OA17844. In the mean time turn off MIDAW or remove OA15958's
PTFs UA25366 or UA25367.

APAR Identifier ...... OA17844 Last Changed ........ 06/08/17
FOR SMF RECEIVE IEE393I SMF PHYSICAL I/O ERROR ...
FOR HFS RECEIVE IGW027E HFS XXX SYNC I/O ERROR ...

  Symptom ...... MS MSGIEE393I Status ........... OPEN
  Severity ................... 1 Date Closed .........
  Component .......... 5695DF106 Duplicate of ........
  Reported Release ......... 1K0 Fixed Release ............
Component Name DFSMS VSAM MEDA Special Notice PE
ERROR DESCRIPTION:
  For HFS receive -
      IGW027E HFS xxx SYNC I/O ERROR. RC=00000024 RSN=5B260104
      ABEND0F4 RC24 RSN5BC50104 IN GFUZIOER
In both cases MIDAW is enabled, and after apply OA15958 the
problems occurred. A channel program check ( CPC ) is occurring
because a MIDAW parameter address in the CCW must be on a
  quad-word (16-byte) boundary and it isn't.

  LOCAL FIX:
Disable MIDAW - by issuing the following command from each system:
  SETIOS MIDAW=NO
  or, remove OA15958's PTFs UA25366 or UA25367
