If the service provider's support team thinks it's true, they should provide the documentation that shows this to be the case. The Migration manual suggests that programs compiled with older versions of the COBOL compiler will run if you use the LE run-time libraries. The old COBOL run-time libraries should NOT be used.

We are on Enterprise COBOL, ourselves, but (as with many shops) we have a mixture of code from aeons ago. Only about a third of our code gets re-compiled each year. And, it's always the same third. Does this sound as bogus to you as it does to me? With IBM's compatibility for old programmes, this should not be an issue. If it's true where is it documented? *********************************************************************** Bear Stearns is not responsible for any recommendation, solicitation, offer or agreement or any information about any transaction, customer account or account activity contained in this communication. *********************************************************************** ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
