cobol II and vs cobol?

let's see "LE/COBOL" has been available for what 15 years now, it's time to bite the bullet and get off of
cobol II and vs cobol

I am curious if anyone can help me track down WHY so many sites are getting
the wrong information about z/OS LE V1R7 (or any release) NOT supporting
OS/VS COBOL and VS COBOL II compiled object code.

Is this some presentation somewhere? Some IBM or other document? Something
being said by some IBM-ers? Just "rumors" that are getting passed along?
Other?

P.S.  Is it possible that this is getting confused with the CICS TS V3.1
drop of support for OS/VS COBOL (not VS COBOL II) object code?
