Pennsylvania allowed for this tax exemption in the past. They have
recently changed the law. We were saving 6% on IBM and BMC software.
This was significant savings for a 5000 MIP shop. We didn't have any
issues downloading our software, including z/OS electronically. Back
when I discovered this about 3-4 years ago, the following states were
eligible:

Arkansas, california, florida, georgia, iowa, kentucky, maryland,
massachusetts, missouri, new jersey, north carolina, oklahoma,
pennsylvania,
Rhode island, south carolina, vermont, virginia, and wyoming

-----Original Message-----

In the state of CT, we're eligible for tax savings if our software is
downloaded electronically rather than obtained via physical media.

Has anyone downloaded their complete z/OS ServerPac either via ShopZ or
FTP? Care to share your experience and/or opinions?

We're beginning our plans for z/OS 1.8, and the usual components. There
are concerns that the connect time, and the DASD requirements will be
prohibitive.

Thanks in advance...
Bob R
