One thing that I always thought was a bit "funny" in the marketing is that they 
say it provides a low-end mainframe solution.  IMHO it's not a mainframe or 
anywhere near a mainframe.  

A z/OS emulator is a super-duper development/testing/educational resource, but 
not a mainframe.  

I hope that instead of stopping their AD/CD program it opens it up more, 
especially to partners, developers and educational institutions.  (It's a 
dream, anyway.)

I recall being at such a SHARE session in Seattle and did not get a straight
answer.  The line was something like we would simply order the software &
IBM would license it.  Why wouldn't they?  heh.  Somewhat the same response
at a 64-bit FLEX system session. (ISVs can use it, but not commercial
customers.) Seemingly a trend.
