Braille on drive up ATMs seems silly, until you realize that it is simply cheaper to make a standard ATM with standard buttons which can be used in any location, not just "drive up". Just like why there are locks on the doors of 24 hours, "we never, ever, ever close" convience stores. It is cheaper to buy a standard door with a lock than special order an identical door, without a lock. Standardized equals less expensive (in most cases). > > Can this world get any more dumbed down and screwy? > Yes. And it likely will. A judge has ordered the US Treasury to make it easier for blind people to determine the denomination of paper money (which is good since there are SOBs who would cheat their own family out of a penny, given the chance). Many have said that this may result in the various bill being different sizes. Now, that is going to be a royal pain. > Later, > Steve Thompson -- John McKown Senior Systems Programmer HealthMarkets Keeping the Promise of Affordable Coverage Administrative Services Group Information Technology The information contained in this e-mail message may be privileged and/or confidential.
