SMP/E will use ICSF in preference to Java for SHA-1 calculations whenever possible, simply because of better performance (you should read this as Java is slower -- no big surprise there). If all goes well there are no SMP/E msgs or anything like that to tell you that SMP/E used Java in lieu of ICSF, however, if you have any javadebugoptions specified, you will notice "msgDigest" stuff in the SYSPRINT.
